When adjusting a machine, a shaft or spindle is usually used. It is essential to know the position of this spindle to ensure that the machine is adjusted correctly. Where in the past a tape measure or slide gauge was used to determine the correct displacement, we now use position indicators and clock counters, also called counters. An indicator ensures that the adjustment of a machine becomes easier, faster and more accurate.
