On 1 April 2025, Resato officially handed over its latest waterjet cutting machine to the Royal Netherlands Air Force’s Logistics Centre Woensdrecht, located in Dongen. This machine, which was developed and manufactured entirely in the Netherlands, will play an important role in increasing the combat strength of the Dutch defence forces.
With this machine, the 982 Squadron team can now cut various materials, from different metals and plastics to special composites and even reinforced concrete, with high precision. Versatility is of great importance to Squadron 982, as it works with many different raw materials. Not only modern materials that are expensive and scarce, but also older systems are maintained here with more traditional materials.
Because the products can be nested very easily and efficiently, virtually no waste is produced. The user-friendly and versatile control software is of great value here. Operators can perform all necessary operations or request information about maintenance tasks on the console. Once the machine has been set up, it runs unmanned thanks to the excellent automation and safety features of the Resato waterjet cutting machine. This is a major advantage in the current situation within Squadron 982, as the LCW has a large amount of work to do and it is difficult to recruit sufficient and well-qualified personnel.
